OrthoSolutions acquires Meshworks: 3D printing for customized orthopaedic implants

OrthoSolutions, a company focused on orthopaedic solutions for the foot and ankle, has announced the acquisition of Meshworks. Meshworks specializes in the development of patient-specific implants using additive manufacturing. With this acquisition, OrthoSolutions aims to expand its expertise in the field of customized implants.

Meshworks was founded to produce implants that meet the anatomical requirements of individual patients. The company brings together expertise from various disciplines, including orthopaedic design, additive manufacturing and metallurgy. Scientific foundations come from Oxford and Imperial College London. Working with surgeons, Meshworks has developed a platform that is both precise and user-friendly.

Eliot Clare, CEO of OrthoSolutions, explained that the acquisition will combine Meshworks’ expertise in additive manufacturing with OrthoSolutions’ market knowledge. The aim is to further improve the supply of orthopaedic implants. “We see this as an opportunity to expand our existing offering and develop new approaches for patient-specific solutions,” said Clare.
