Jay Flatland and Paul Rose built a robot which is capable of solving the Rubik’s Cube in just a second and a few milliseconds. The robot is built using a 3D printed cage for six stepper motors and four webcams. An Arduino controls the stepper motors with a very fine tuned acceleration and deceleration algorithms. The feedback from the webcams is fed into a program running on Linux which gives the right signals to the Arduino.
