Peak Technology, a leading provider of prototyping and manufacturing solutions, has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets and intellectual property of Type A Machines. With this acquisition, Peak Technology expands its portfolio to include advanced 3D printing technologies to meet the growing needs of the industry.
Type A Machines was known for large-format, modular 3D printers such as the Series 1 and Printer Pod. These systems offered flexibility and compatibility with materials such as PLA, PET and nylon. They were aimed at both prototyping and production applications.
By integrating the technologies of Type A Machines, Peak Technology strengthens its position as a provider of comprehensive manufacturing solutions. In addition to its established capabilities in subtractive manufacturing (CNC machining), the company will now also offer additive manufacturing solutions, including material selection, part manufacturing and assembly
This acquisition enables Peak Technology to provide a full range of additive and subtractive manufacturing processes. This includes pre-AM, in-situ AM and post-AM processes such as material forming, CNC machining and the integration of advanced components.
