US-based Phase3D, which specializes in in-situ inspection technologies for additive manufacturing, has announced a strategic partnership with Japan’s Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC). The aim of the cooperation is to make Phase3D’s Fringe Inspection series products available on the Japanese market. The cooperation is intended to improve quality assurance in additive manufacturing in Japan and facilitate access to high-precision measurement technologies.
Phase3D offers quality control solutions based on the projection of structured light. With fringe inspection technology, precise height maps can be created with micrometer-level accuracy. This is particularly important for industries with high quality requirements, such as aerospace, medical technology and defense. The technology ensures reproducible results and enables seamless documentation of production processes.
Thanks to the partnership, TNSC will distribute Phase3D products, including the new fringe qualification software, and provide technical support in Japan.
“This partnership with TNSC represents a significant milestone in our mission to empower the additive manufacturing industry with trusted quality assurance technology,” says Niall O’Dowd, Founder and CEO of Phase3D. “TNSC’s in-depth understanding of advanced manufacturing and commitment to technical excellence make them the perfect partner for bringing our inspection solutions to the Japanese market.”
“Phase3D’s innovative approach to AM inspection aligns perfectly with our commitment to advanced manufacturing solutions,” says Hirotaka Mangyo, Innovation Division Director of TNSC. “Their metrology-based technology fills a critical need in Japanese market for objective, measurement-based quality assurance in additive manufacturing.”
This partnership marks an important milestone in Phase3D’s global expansion strategy. With the support of TNSC, the company plans to further expand its presence in Asia to tap into additional markets and strengthen additive manufacturing worldwide.
