PioCreat, a subsidiary of Creality, has unveiled the new HALOT-X1 resin 3D printer. The device has been available on Kickstarter since April 1, 2025. The starting price is 399 US dollars as part of a limited early-bird offer.
Technically, the HALOT-X1 is positioned in the upper middle class of resin printing. The central feature: a 10.1-inch monochrome LCD with 16K resolution, combined with a collimated honeycomb matrix light source (6000 µW/cm²). The device thus achieves a high level of detail accuracy, supported by a construction volume of 211.68 × 118.37 × 200 mm.
The design dispenses with manual leveling. A permanently mounted build plate is calibrated ex works, which simplifies set-up. A special feature of the mechanics: The build platform remains stationary during the printing process. Instead, the light source and resin tray move vertically – an approach that, according to the manufacturer, increases stability and reduces the formation of layer lines.
Another highlight is the optional AFU system. This manages the resin fully automatically: It recognizes materials via RFID, regulates the temperature to up to 45 degrees and enables recycling. Especially at low ambient temperatures, the system is said to deliver better printing results thanks to reduced viscosity.
PioCreat also uses an intelligent light zone control system with 92 areas on the software side. It only activates light where it is needed for the current printing process. This is intended to extend the service life of the LCD and prevent overexposure. This is complemented by cloud profiles for various resins, which make it easier to get started without having to enter parameters manually.
The Kickstarter campaign offers several variants, including bundles with an AFU unit and a limited CHITUBOX Pro license.
