PPprint GmbH, a specialist in 3D printing with polypropylene (PP), was honored with the “Company of the Future” award at the BIG BANG AI FESTIVAL in Berlin.

The festival is considered Europe’s largest AI and innovation event, bringing together leading figures from business, politics, science, and startups every year.

The award is presented by the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalization (diind) in cooperation with the DUP Entrepreneur Magazine. It recognizes companies that stand out for their innovation, digital expertise, sustainable actions, and strategic vision for the future.

For PPprint, this recognition represents an important confirmation of its direction: As a global leader in extrusion-based 3D printing with polypropylene, the company consistently pursues the goal of establishing this material in additive manufacturing worldwide, setting new standards in quality, efficiency, and responsibility.

Applications in Medical Technology – Focus on Orthoses and Prosthetics

A major focus of PPprint’s product development lies in medical technology, especially in the field of orthoses and prosthetics. Polypropylene offers crucial advantages here: it is biocompatible, lightweight, semi-flexible, and fracture-resistant — essential properties for everyday use in medical devices.

With P-filament 721, patient-specific orthoses and prosthetics can be produced that offer optimal wearing comfort while providing the strength to withstand high loads. Applications range from lower-leg orthoses with dynamic footplates to hand orthoses and interim prosthetic sockets.

Thanks to P-support 279, complex geometries — such as anatomically shaped cavities or lattice structures — can be cleanly realized, while the Premium P-surface ensures consistent adhesion and reproducible precision.

This combination makes PPprint materials especially attractive for orthopedic workshops, rehabilitation centers, and research institutions that rely on digital and scalable processes.

“Our products enable the use of 3D printing in orthopedic technology in an economical, reproducible, and patient-oriented way,” says Friederike Schulz, Sales and Marketing Manager at PPprint. “This opens up new possibilities for customized production and individual care in orthotics and prosthetics.”

Digitalization and Future Orientation

PPprint uses digital technologies to continuously optimize the 3D printing process with polypropylene. AI-supported data analysis, predefined print profiles, and technical support allow users worldwide to achieve reproducible results with minimal effort.

This consistent digitalization — combined with scientific research and practical application — makes PPprint a pioneer in forward-looking additive manufacturing.

The Product Portfolio – Premium Quality for Professional 3D Printing with PP

PPprint offers a uniquely coordinated product portfolio that covers the entire 3D printing process with polypropylene:

  • P-filament 721 – the versatile premium filament for precise, low-warp, and biocompatible parts. It provides excellent layer adhesion, fracture resistance, and flexible material properties – ideal for orthoses, prosthetics, tools, and functional components.
  • P-support 279 – the world’s first “break-away” support material developed specifically for PP. It adheres strongly to the part during printing and can be easily and residue-free removed after heating to approx. 100 °C.
  • P-surface 141 – the patented print surface for perfect adhesion and repeated use. The material is heat-resistant, chemical-resistant, and ensures reliable results without pretreatment.
  • Premium P-surface – the preassembled high-end print plate combining P-surface 141 with a carrier plate. It is extremely robust, durable, and provides maximum dimensional accuracy for professional applications.
  • P-pellets 310 – optimized polypropylene granules for FGF printing processes (Fused Granular Fabrication), ideal for large-scale applications.

All products, as well as accessories, cleaning agents, and starter kits, are available in the PPprint Online Shop.
