Czech 3D printer manufacturer Prusa Research is launching a limited-time summer promotion for its Original Prusa XL large format series. From June 18 to July 9, 2025, buyers of selected variants of the model will receive free worldwide shipping and free filaments. The promotion is aimed primarily at users with high material requirements and an interest in multi-material printing.
The promotion includes versions with two and five toolheads – both pre-assembled and as a kit. In addition to shipping, buyers also receive several spools of Prusament filament. The 2-head version includes PLA in “Prusa Orange” and PETG in “Matte Black”, while the 5-head version includes three additional PLA colors. Single-head models are excluded from the promotion.
The Original Prusa XL is the flagship model in the portfolio and is aimed at users who print large or complex objects with multiple materials. The integrated toolchanger architecture enables largely automated extruder changes. According to the manufacturer, firmware updates in the current year have improved changeover times and operational reliability. A new calibration function, “phase stepping”, also ensures quieter operation and improved print quality.
The range is complemented by accessories such as the modular enclosure with air filter system or a new powder-coated printing plate for the large format range. The enhanced Buddy3D camera is also available as part of the range and is set to receive functions such as time-lapse and network streaming in future firmware versions.
Prusa has also revised its in-house EasyPrint slicer. Users can now print directly from mobile devices, including material assignment and color management for complex assemblies. This function is intended to lower the entry barrier in particular, but is also aimed at advanced users who are looking for efficiency in their workflow.
