Prusa opens new 3D printing slicer Easyprint to all users

The Czech 3D printer manufacturer Prusa Research has now officially released its EasyPrint slicer platform, which was previously only accessible by invitation, to all owners of a Prusa printer. The application runs entirely in the browser and requires no additional installation. Users can prepare their print projects directly via desktop, tablet or smartphone and send them to their printer.

EasyPrint is designed to facilitate access to 3D printing, especially for beginners. The interface reduces the number of parameters to the essentials. For example, users can adjust the resolution, fill level or support structures without having to navigate through complex menu structures. This makes the platform particularly suitable for simple print jobs, for example in the education sector or for private applications.

Experienced users also have the option of exporting their projects as 3MF files and editing them in more detail in PrusaSlicer. This combined strategy of simplified access and expandability aims to appeal equally to different user groups.

In the long term, Prusa plans to open up the EasyPrint platform to 3D printers from other manufacturers. However, access is currently reserved exclusively for registered devices from the company’s own portfolio. EasyPrint is technically based on proven PrusaSlicer components and relies on a server-side computing infrastructure. However, the use of the cloud is voluntary – users can choose to slice locally or use cloud processing.

By opening up the platform, Prusa is taking a step towards greater ease of use and lower barriers to entry for 3D printing.
