Quickparts is significantly expanding its additive manufacturing and rapid tooling offering in the USA. The company has invested around 2.5 million US dollars in new equipment and upgrades at its Seattle headquarters and is positioning the site as an “Aerospace & Defence Centre of Excellence.” In parallel, Quickparts is launching its Quick Mould service, already introduced in Europe, in North America to provide functional injection-molded parts within a few days.
Technologically, the expansion centers on high-precision SLA systems and QuickCast processes for investment casting patterns. The combination of large-format stereolithography printers and optimized casting patterns targets applications in drones, satellites, drivetrains, and other aerospace and defense programs. Higher throughput and reproducible part quality are intended to have an impact especially where tight tolerances and consistent material properties are critical for safety.
“For more than three decades, we’ve been driving and redefining global manufacturing — delivering continuous innovation across on-demand services,” said Avi Reichental, CEO of Quickparts. “As we continue to build upon our rich history and proven track record of innovation to help companies rapidly address their most complex manufacturing challenges, today’s announcements reflect this ongoing vision and commitment to our customers.”
With Quick Mould, Quickparts is addressing a different point in the process chain: the transition from 3D-printed prototype to injection-molded series part. The process is based on rapidly milled aluminum molds that are combined with engineering thermoplastics such as glass-fiber-reinforced polyamides. This allows development teams to implement design changes with cycle times of one to a few days and to test material and geometry variants under realistic conditions before investing in permanent steel tooling.
“The addition of enhanced SLA capabilities and the Seattle expansion represent significant steps in strengthening our global manufacturing footprint,” said Peter Jacobsen, EMEA President at Quickparts. “Seeing the strong momentum of Quick Mould across Europe, I’m especially excited that our multinational customers will now have access to this transformative technology.”
For users in the aerospace, medical technology and automotive industries, this creates a seamless workflow: from additively manufactured SLA patterns through investment casting to quickly available injection-molded parts that can be integrated into existing supply chains without media discontinuity.
