The Reach 3D is the newest device created by Nate Rogers. The 249$ 3D printer will have the possibility to work as 3D printer, laser-cutter, engraver or router.
In September 2015 Nate Roggers published his 3D printer Fusion, with the experience of this printer he wanted to develop a new device: A 3D printer that has the possibility to 3D print, laser cut, engrave or even work as a light router, and it should have a reasonable price because it should target students and teachers. Together with his wife Rachel and his two brothers (Keith and Brand) he has planned to sell device.
The Frame of the Reach 3D consists of aluminium laser cut plates and extrusions. The build volume will be 200 x 200 x 215 mm (length x width x height) – that’s a lot for a device in this price range. Nevertheless, the Reach 3D will only be available as a kit and take about 4 to 8 hours to assemble.
With the help of a crowdfunding campaign, the team around Nate Rogers wants to get enough money to start production on 100 machines per month. The campaign started on February 25th and first units should be delivered in May 2016.
