The startup NAVER D2SF-backed RebuilderAI has raised 4.5 billion won in a pre-Series A round and is positioning itself as a technology partner for digital 3D workflows in manufacturing. The company develops AI engines that generate usable 3D data from simple 2D inputs – from product visualizations through to production-ready CAD models that can also be used for 3D printing.
The first product was “VRIN 3D,” a solution that converts objects scanned with a smartphone into high-resolution 3D models. “VRING:ON” now follows as a platform that automatically generates parametric 3D geometries, patterns and CAD data from sketches. The software targets, among others, the fashion and footwear industries, where numerous manual intermediate steps currently lie between the design and the physical prototype. The CES jury honored VRING:ON 2026 in the Fashion Tech and AI categories because the system converts digital design data directly into manufacturable data packages.
At the core of the technology is an agent-based AI system for parametric 3D models that takes material properties and manufacturing processes into account. For shoe development, for example, the platform generates sole geometries suitable for simulation, tooling or additive manufacturing. This approach also convinced ASICS Ventures and resulted in a licensing agreement. Further projects address furniture development in Saudi Arabia as well as a customized software solution for an ODM factory in Hong Kong.
“This funding round validates our AI technology on the global stage,” said JeongHyeon Kim, CEO of RebuilderAI. “Partnering with global brands like ASICS, in particular, marks a significant milestone that demonstrates the real-world value of AI technology in manufacturing.” Kim added, “Our integrated solution—automating everything from design sketches to manufacturing data—can dramatically shorten product development cycles and reduce costs. We plan to expand beyond commerce sectors like footwear and furniture into diverse industries requiring 3D design capabilities.”
RebuilderAI is also working with universities in Korea on manufacturing systems that combine 3D printing with robot-assisted textile deposition, opening up new process chains for individualized products.
