With the Revopoint Trackit, Revopoint introduces a new 3D scanning system that enables optical tracking without the use of markers. The system is currently available on Kickstarter and is primarily aimed at professionals in fields such as mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality control.
What sets Trackit apart is the combination of a high-resolution 3D scanner and an optical tracking base station. Unlike traditional systems that require placing markers on the object, Trackit uses two infrared cameras to track the scanner’s position in real time. This reduces preparation time and minimizes potential errors caused by misplaced or shifted markers.
Two scan modes are available: one with 30 blue cross lasers for fast surface capture—even on dark or reflective materials—and a single-line mode for hard-to-reach areas like recesses or fine details. An integrated calibration system automatically performs gimbal calibration in under 25 minutes, eliminating the need for time-consuming manual adjustments. This makes the process over 50% more efficient than with other tracking-based 3D scanners.
Volumetric accuracy is specified at 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm per meter of scan distance. The tracking base covers an area of up to 2800 x 2800 mm at a working distance of four meters. The entire system is built for mobility, including a durable one-piece carbon fiber frame that withstands transport and tough environments.
The package includes Revopoint’s own Revo Trackit software, available for free. Additionally, all Kickstarter backers receive a one-year license for the advanced Revo Measure software, which supports point cloud and mesh-to-CAD comparison, measurements, parameter extraction, volume calculation, GD&T analysis, and more.
Trackit is designed for SMEs and professionals who have previously been priced out of high-end 3D scanning solutions due to cost and complexity. With an entry price of $3,249 for early Kickstarter backers, the system is well below the typical cost of comparable industrial solutions.
