SCHLENK presents customized copper powders for additive manufacturing at Formnext 2025

SCHLENK is celebrating its Formnext debut this year and presenting a portfolio of tailor-made copper and copper alloy powders that have been specially developed for industrial applications in additive manufacturing.

With over 140 years of experience in copper powder production, SCHLENK is consistently transferring its materials expertise to the world of 3D printing, combining tradition with technological innovation.

The focus of the trade fair presentation is on the Rogal Select product series: application-specific copper and copper alloy powders optimized for processes such as laser-based powder bed fusion (LPBF), cold spray, and directed energy deposition (DED).

The powders are characterized by high purity, excellent flow properties, and very low oxygen content, offering superior electrical and thermal conductivity—manufactured to the highest quality standards Made in Germany.

Materials for key applications

The portfolio includes high-purity copper and high-performance copper alloys such as CuCr1Zr, CuNi2SiCr, and CuAl10Ni5Fe4. In addition, SCHLENK offers the option of developing customer-specific copper alloys. Specific application examples will be presented at Formnext 2025: from heat exchangers and hybrid copper-aluminum coolers for power electronics to hydrogen-resistant burner components for the steel industry.

Sustainability and cooperation

SCHLENK is involved in various research and industry projects to further develop the use of copper materials in additive manufacturing in a sustainable manner.
The focus is on energy efficiency, weight optimization, and the reduction of CO₂ emissions—a contribution to lighter, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly components for the aerospace, e-mobility, and energy technology industries.

Interested visitors can find out about the latest developments and applications at Formnext in Frankfurt am Main from November 18 to 21, 2025, at booth C81 in hall 11.0.
