Sciaky Unveils New EBAM Metal 3D Printing Systems, Expands to Europe

Chicago-based manufacturer of metal 3D printing systems and subsidiary of Philips Service Industries has launched French and German language websites, featuring an expanded lineup of new metal 3D printing systems based on their proprietary Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) technology.

The new lineup includes options for medium, large and extra-large part applications, ranging from 203 mm to 5.79 meters in length. EBAM technology has gross deposition rates ranging from 3.18 to 9.07 kg of metal per hour, making it one of the fasted metal 3D printing systems on the market. Additionally, it allows for combining two different metal alloys into a single melt pool to create custom alloy parts or ingots. The mixture ratio of the two materials can be changed as well.

Their new process control system called IRISS (Interlayer Real-time Imaging & Sensing System) was first introduced at the beginning of this year. The closed loop system monitors the metal deposition process in real time and makes adjustments to the process parameters that compensate for variation throughout the build process.

EBAM systems utilise wire feedstock, which is available in a variety of metals such as titanium, tantalum, niobium, tungsten, molybdenum, Inconel, aluminum, stainless steels, nickel alloys, and others.

The new websites also include updated information on Sciaky’s industry-leading electron beam welding machines, as well as a recent video that shows how Sciaky’s EBAM technology is helping Lockheed Martin Space Systems 3D print titanium propellant tanks for satellites.

“Sciaky is proud to launch new French and German language websites, as well as unveil an expanded lineup of new EBAM metal 3D printing systems,” said Mike Riesen, general manager of Sciaky, Inc. “We hope the new websites enlighten the tech-savvy people of Europe about Sciaky’s innovative solutions.”
