Sculpteo Now Offers Brass & Gold Material Options

The 3D printing service provider Sculpteo has announced the addition of a seventh material. Customers can choose between three different finishes of their new brass material: Raw finish, highly polished or plated with 22K gold.

Sculpteo applies the lost-wax casting technique in order to create the brass objects. Thereby a wax model is produced on a ProJet 3500 3D printer, which is later covered with a stone-like material. The wax will then be heated an drained through two holes left in the stone and filled with brass, composed of 82% copper and 18% zinc. Finally, the cast can be removed by hand and one of the finishing options is applied.

The turn around time for the brass material is 13 to 18 business days according to Sculpteo. The estimated shipping time is calculated automatically during upload of the object. There are different shipping options to choose from. The price will depend on several factors, including volume, size and bounding box.
