The Korean manufacturer Sentrol has showcased their new industrial-grade 3D printer at the 3D Printing 2016 Conference in Tokyo. The SS600 is a sand-based Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) system.
While the company has already distributed their smaller SS150 and SS500 units to research institutions and schools in Japan, Germany and the US, the larger SS600 with a build volume of 600 x 400 x 400 mm is targeted at the aerospace and defence markets. Addionally, Sentrol showcased their SM250 metal 3D printer for medical devices, transportation equipment, generator parts and aerospace.
Sentrol has been working on the development of their 3D printing technology already since 2010 and also holds patents for these processes. Their first 3D printer SS150 was first delivered to Hanyang University at the beginning of last year.
