Senvol and the U.S. Air Force to present at RAPID + TCT 2023

Senvol, an AM data management company, will be at RAPID + TCT again this year to help interested parties learn more about their additive manufacturing products. Here, the team will go into more detail about data products, such as the Senvol Database, Senvol API, Senvol Indexes, Senvol SOP, Senvol ML and Senvol Services, and show how machine learning can be used in additive manufacturing.

To connect with Senvol at RAPID + TCT, there are two great opportunities:

  • Attend the presentation by Senvol President Zach Simkin: This presentation will provide insight into the technical results of a recently completed program supported by several organizations, including the Office of Naval Research, Air Force Research Lab, NAVAIR and NAVSEA. The program focused on the development and demonstration of Transfer Learning in the context of machine learning. Transfer Learning can use data from older machines and materials to help predict the performance of new machines and/or materials.

Proper use of Transfer Learning can significantly reduce the time and cost of process development or qualification of new AM machines or materials. In the program, SS316L data was generated on four different AM machines: 3D Systems ProX 320, EOS M270, EOS M290 and Additive Industries MetalFAB1. Using Transfer Learning, the data from some machines was used to predict the performance of the other machines. Transfer Learning was found to be very effective – the resulting predictive models were significantly improved and useful.

Simkin will co-present with Dr. Mark Benedict, materials scientist and program manager at the Air Force Research Lab. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 2nd at 3:00-3:25 p.m.

  • Visit Senvol at Booth #4658: Senvol’s booth can be found at the following times: Tuesday, May 2, 10:00am-5:00pm Wednesday, May 3, 10:00am-5:00pm Thursday, May 4, 10:00am-3:00pm.

There you will learn more about Senvol’s data products for additive manufacturing, such as the Senvol Database, Senvol API, Senvol Indexes, Senvol SOP, Senvol ML and Senvol Services.
