Singapore Post Offices About to Offer 3D Printing Service

SingPost is going to gradually introduce a new generation of post offices in the city, which will offer 3D scanning and 3D printing services.

In the next few years post offices in Singapore will be transformed into modern hubs, adapted to our dynamic lifestyle. For example customers will have access to a 24/7 “Auto-Lobby”, being able to use services provided around the clock.

In collaboration with 3D Matters, SingPost has introduced a pilot project at Suntec City Post Office. Consumers and prosumers will have the possibility to 3D print prototypes or custom gift ideas in a designated 3D scanning and printing area of the facility.

Mr Elvin Too, SingPost’s Vice President for Post Office Products, Services & Network said: “We are innovating for the future. Our customer needs are ever changing. This Innovation Corner serves as a testbed for innovative new services that can be offered at post offices in the future, such as 3D Printing. That way we can ensure the post office always offers services that are relevant to Singapore.”
