Sovol presents affordable CoreXY 3D printer Sovol Zero

With the Sovol Zero, the Chinese manufacturer is presenting a new desktop 3D printer that is designed for high printing speeds and precise motion control. The device is visually and functionally based on current trend models.

At the center is a CoreXY motion system. Input Shaping” and ‘Pressure Advance’ are used for motion control in order to minimize vibrations and optimize extrusion. The print head is designed to achieve accelerations of up to 40,000 mm/s². Sovol states the extrusion performance at 50 mm³/s. In addition, silicone damping is used to reduce machine-related vibrations. According to the manufacturer, the maximum printing speed is 1200 mm/s. The maximum Nozzel temperature is specified as 350 degrees Celsius.

However, there is no specific information on the print quality at this speed. The device also has an automatic leveling system that combines eddy current scanning with pressure sensors. The heated print bed can be heated up to 120 degrees Celsius. An integrated air filter and real-time monitoring of the build chamber temperature complete the equipment. It will be possible to combine the latter with an actively heated chamber in the future.

Another feature called “Adaptive Area Detection” apparently analyzes the geometry of the print model and adjusts the extrusion quantity in detailed areas. The build chamber has a volume of 152.4 x 152.4 x 152.5 mm. The price is currently 399 US dollars.
