Star Trek Replicator Challenge: Design a 3D Printable Eating Tool for Astronauts

Future Engineers has teamed up with Star Trek and NASA and reaches out to K-12 students in the U.S. to design a non-edible food related object for astronauts to 3D print in the year 2050.

There are many things involved before astronauts can actually enjoy a meal, from growing plants to store food items and prepare a meal. You have an idea of a non-edible, food related item for astronauts that could be 3D printed in space in the year 2050? Enter the Star Trek Replicator Challenge by creating and submitting a 3D model by May 1, 2016. While the ten semifinalists will win a 3D printing in space prize pack, the four finalists can get a 3D printer for their school and a PancakeBot for their family. The final winner can look forward to a trip to New York to see the Space Shuttle Enterprise with an astronaut and will also get a Start Trek prize pack.
