The Italian company Starfort developed a prototype for a pellet based 3D printer and patented the pellet extruder in the making.
The system melts industrial grade pellets and extrudes them with a 5mm nozzle. The new 3D printer will be used by Starfort´s team for their own use but you can also take advantage of 3D printed industrial plastics by ordering services from Starfort.
The tested materials are plastics like PEEK, PPS, PSU, PA and PC.
At the moment the Starfort submitted the technology for patenting. Starfort is also looking for partners which want to licence the technology for the pellet extruder.
