Steinbach AG is further expanding its manufacturing capacities in ceramic 3D printing and has commissioned two additional systems of the type CeraFab S65 from Lithoz. This brings the machine park for lithography-based ceramic manufacturing to a total of seven systems. The expansion comes against the backdrop of rising demand for additively manufactured ceramic components for industrial applications.

The LCM technology used enables high-resolution processing of ceramic suspension materials and is particularly suited to complex geometries and tight tolerances. According to the company, near-series production volumes can be manufactured reproducibly, which is relevant for sectors such as mechanical engineering, measurement and sensor technology, and medical technology. In parallel with expanding its printing capacities, Steinbach AG has also scaled up post-processing and now operates 13 kilns. As a result, lead times for prototypes have been reduced to just a few weeks.

Reflecting on the company’s recent growth, Volker Steinbach, CEO of Steinbach AG says: “After many years of working with LCM technology, growing our 3D printer fleet is a natural response to increasing market demand. Coming from various industries such as machine engineering, measuring and sensor technologies, and MedTech, our customers rely on consistent quality, reliability, and long-term production continuity.”

He adds: “Besides, we have strengthened our post-processing capabilities to 13 furnaces, enabling us to reduce delivery times for prototypes to three to four weeks. By expanding Steinbach AG’s LCM-based machine park, we have scaled our rigorous quality standards to meet customer expectations at mass production level, further reinforcing our position as a trusted manufacturing partner for high-performance ceramic components.”

With the now achieved system scale, Steinbach AG positions itself as a manufacturing partner for demanding ceramic components, where additive processes can leverage their strengths in design freedom and reproducible quality.

Dr. Johannes Homa, CEO of Lithoz on the continuously growing success of their contract manufacturers: “This investment by Steinbach AG showcases innovation-leading OEMs increasingly use experienced contract manufacturers within our LCM-based Ceramic 3D Factory network to open a low-threshold access to successfully explore new business and engineering opportunities. After building up LCM technology expertisefor 10 years, Steinbach AG is now reaping the rewards of taking the leap. With seven LCM printers operating at full capacity and a profound understanding of industry challenges and needs, the company is fully leveraging the serial production capabilities of ceramic 3D printing. Lithoz’ Ceramic 3D Factory, our global network of contract manufacturers and partners, has arrived at the frontier of industrial use cases and applications and keeps pushing.”
