Stratasys has unveiled the Neo800+, the latest addition to its stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer series. Designed for industrial applications where speed, dimensional accuracy, and repeatability are critical, the Neo800+ builds upon the proven Neo800 model but features significant upgrades in key technical areas. At the heart of the update is the integration of new ScanControl+ technology, which, according to Stratasys, enables up to 50% faster print speeds without compromising on precision or surface quality.
The ScanControl+ module combines an optimized laser system with enhanced optics to efficiently process high-energy materials. In application tests, average production times were reduced by 39%, with reductions exceeding 44% in specific use cases such as tooling applications—depending on the resin used. Due to the system’s high precision, manual post-processing requirements are reduced, further driving down per-part costs.
“Engineered with precision and performance in mind, the Neo800+ is designed to meet the growing demands of industries like automotive and aerospace, where high-speed production and flawless part quality are critical,” said Rich Garrity, Chief Business Unit Officer, Stratasys. “Whether you’re designing prototypes or manufacturing end-use parts, the Neo800+ delivers exceptional throughput and reliability.”
The machine includes several reliability-enhancing features, such as a vacuum protection system, Z-axis collision detection, and continuous environmental monitoring. These are intended to minimize production downtime and increase process reliability in near-production environments. The Neo800+ is optimized for use with ScanControl+ Ready materials, including the new resin Somos WaterShed XC+, which offers a smooth finish and high transparency with reduced exposure time.
“The improved speed has allowed us to increase throughput and maintain open capacity as well as offer quicker turnaround times to our customers,” said Sean Schoonmaker, Director, Operations, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing. “The quality and consistency of the prints have been outstanding, with an excellent surface finish that helps save on post processing time for cosmetic models. We’re seeing sharper detailed features and consistent accuracy well within our standard tolerances.”
