Stratasys Ltd. will present the new GrabCAD IoT platform at the upcoming Formnext 2024 in Frankfurt. This solution aims to fundamentally optimize the way customers manage their 3D printing processes and increase productivity in additive manufacturing. The trade fair will take place from November 19 to 22.
The GrabCAD IoT platform is immediately available to Stratasys customers using GrabCAD Streamline Pro software, as well as users of PolyJet J3/J5 Series printers and through Stratasys customer service. In the future, the solution will also be rolled out for other technologies.
The new platform offers IoT-powered features that enable the digital transformation of user interactions with Stratasys’ 3D printers, software and services. A key feature is the comprehensive real-time data collection and monitoring enabled by the GrabCAD Streamline Pro. This improves operational efficiency by allowing users to use data to optimize their printing processes. Another important feature is advanced remote monitoring and diagnostics, which allows customer service to detect printer problems early and resolve them faster. This reduces printer downtime.
“The GrabCAD IoT Platform with GrabCAD Streamline Pro, or even standalone with Stratasys Customer Support, represents a significant leap forward in our digital transformation journey,” said Rich Garrity, Chief Commercial Business Officer at Stratasys. “Using a single standards-based IoT platform for all Stratasys printers rather than multiple bespoke printer technology specific IoT solutions, we’re not just improving individual printer performance – we’re transforming how our customers interact with and benefit from their entire Stratasys ecosystem.”
The use of IoT technologies for real-time data analysis and predictive maintenance opens up new possibilities for the efficient management of entire printer fleets. The platform uses the open standard MTConnect to enable seamless connectivity. This supports integration into existing digital production environments and facilitates decision making based on data-driven insights.
Stratasys’ long-standing experience with Industry 4.0 solutions is evident in this new development. The GrabCAD IoT platform is a further step in the digital evolution of additive manufacturing and offers users the opportunity to benefit from improved uptime and more efficient production processes.
