Stratasys showcases updates to its 3D printing technology at Formnext

Stratasys announced the latest updates to its FDM Fused Deposition Modeling and P3 Programmable PhotoPolymerization product portfolio. These will be unveiled at Formnext 2024 from November 19-22 in Frankfurt, Germany.

New additions to the FDM range include the Fortus FDC drying cabinet system, which was developed for the Fortus 450mc and F900 models. The cabinet offers space for two Xtend 250 Fortus Plus spools and thus optimizes the operating time of the F900 printers by up to 2.7 times. Thanks to its integrated drying technology, the system reduces moisture issues and enables longer print runs without interruptions – a key benefit for large production environments.

In addition, Stratasys has introduced a new FDM PC ESD material specifically designed for electrostatic sensitive applications. This material is ideal for tools, fixtures and assembly aids and meets the requirements for the safe handling of electronic components by effectively preventing electrostatic discharges.

In the field of photopolymer materials, Stratasys is also expanding its P3 portfolio, in particular with the new Ultracur3D RG 3280 from Forward AM, a ceramic-filled material for injection molding tool applications. These and over 30 other materials in the Open Materials portfolio support end-use applications in the automotive, audio, fluid and gas control industries. The Origin P3 platform benefits from these materials by providing high print accuracy and surface quality comparable to traditional injection molding processes.

“A key factor in helping our customers expand their adoption of AM solutions in their manufacturing processes is providing them materials which meet the demanding expectations necessary for the parts they produce,” said Rich Garrity, Chief Business Unit Officer, Stratasys. “As materials have matured to support more use cases, customers have more opportunities to leverage the unique benefits of additive to increase production and reduce costs.”

Visitors to Formnext can see the new products and enhancements at the Stratasys booth (Hall 12.1, Booth D121) and learn about the latest developments in industrial 3D printing.
