Swiss Students Build 3D Printed Air Tank

A group of students formed the club CVRA to compete in the European robotics competition Eurobot.

For Eurobot 2016 they planned a special feature. A little umbrella pops out with the help of pressured air. The problem that the engineers faced was that the available commercial air tanks wouldn’t fit into their robot called Debra 5.

So the team designed a few prototypes of tanks and tested how good the 3D printed tanks hold up. Their final prototype measures 65x40x80mm and withstands pressures up to 6,5 bar.
