The Virtual Foundry Filament turns Bambu Lab 3D printers into metal 3D printers

The Virtual Foundry (TVF), a material specialist, is known for its metal filaments. TVF’s metal filaments consist of a mixture of metal powders and polymer. This combination of materials makes it possible to produce complex metal parts with FDM printers. After printing, the polymer is removed by sintering, resulting in a pure metal part.

Now The Virtual Foundry has announced that it wants to focus on Bambu Lab printers. The company wants to facilitate metal 3D printing with Bambu 3D printing. The “Universal Metal Expansion” makes it possible to convert almost any filament-based 3D printer into a system for metal 3D printing. The availability of TVF’s metal filaments and the integration of Bambu Labs high-speed printers will make it much easier to get started with metal 3D printing.

Bradley Woods, CEO of The Virtual Foundry, emphasizes: “Universal Metal Expansion eliminates major hurdles and opens up the possibilities of metal 3D printing to a wide audience. With Filamet and Bambu Labs printers, users can realize their ideas with the same ease as with plastic printing.”
