U.S.-based machinery manufacturer Thermwood Corporation has announced a restructuring of its executive leadership. As part of a generational transition, Jason Susnjara has been appointed President, succeeding David Hildenbrand, who has retired after 47 years with the company. This leadership change comes at a time when Thermwood is placing increased focus on large-scale additive manufacturing and driving the strategic evolution of its business model.
Susnjara has been with Thermwood for over three decades and most recently served as Executive Vice President, playing a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction. His expertise spans multiple areas of the organization, including manufacturing, sales, and product development. In recent years, Thermwood has introduced new machine platforms in the field of Large Scale Additive Manufacturing (LSAM), capable of processing thermoplastic composites for applications in tooling and aerospace.
At the same time, Jennifer Watt has been named the new Executive Vice President. Since 2019, she has served as Chief Legal Officer at Thermwood, overseeing legal affairs and corporate governance. With a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a background in business administration, she brings both legal and economic perspectives to the leadership team. Both newly appointed executives are members of Thermwood’s Board of Directors.
Through this reorganization, Thermwood signals its intention to structurally support the further development of large-format 3D printing systems. The company is among the few manufacturers that combine industrial additive manufacturing with multi-axis CNC machining to offer hybrid production solutions. These leadership changes are designed to prepare the company for long-term technological and organizational challenges.
