ThreadsDoc: Authentise expands platform with AI-supported documentation

Authentise, a provider of data-driven manufacturing software, has introduced ThreadsDoc, a generative AI extension of the Threads engineering collaboration platform. This tool automates the creation of structured technical documents by integrating data from ongoing engineering processes. The aim is to drastically reduce the effort required for complex reports such as technical data packages (TDPs), risk analyses or project reports. Boeing, which supported the development, was able to reduce the processing time for TDPs by up to 150 hours per project with ThreadsDoc.

“The launch of ThreadsDoc represents a significant step forward in accelerating engineering workflows,” said Andre Wegner, CEO of Authentise. “By automating the generation of reports from the data already present in engineering discussions and files, we are helping organizations unlock time savings and reduce friction. This is the way to get engineers focused on the most creative tasks and provide all future stakeholders with an easy way to access the work done. In the future, every product won’t only include designs, but automated reports that describe the thinking and intent behind the designs.”

A key advantage of ThreadsDoc is the integrated intelligence that checks design documents for completeness. Missing content is identified and the system suggests starting new threads to involve relevant experts in the process. This results in stronger documents that can be quickly updated based on the improved inputs.

In addition to TDPs, ThreadsDoc is used in risk assessment, project reporting and onboarding document creation. It combines information from different sources to generate precise and structured reports.

With ThreadsDoc and the new ThreadsAPI, Authentise also opens up the platform for developers to create customized plugins. These extensions optimize workflows and promote collaboration across teams. The combination of automated documentation and flexible development options helps companies to shorten development times and focus engineers on strategic tasks. ThreadsDoc is a step towards more efficient work processes in manufacturing and product development.
