TRUMPF expands aluminum portfolio for industrial 3D printing

TRUMPF has significantly expanded its range of aluminum alloys for additive manufacturing. The new alloys are intended to offer a wide range of applications from prototyping to series production and are designed for industries such as the automotive, motorsport, aerospace and bicycle industries.

The variety of aluminum alloys allows customers to choose the optimal materials for specific application requirements. For example, the aerospace industry requires particularly high-strength aluminum alloys that meet high safety and stability requirements. The automotive industry, on the other hand, values more cost-effective options, while alloys such as the widely used 6061 are increasingly being used in bicycle construction – especially for frames. TRUMPF now offers manufacturers the opportunity to use this alloy in 3D printing, which promises new design possibilities and improved efficiency in the production process.

At the Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt, TRUMPF will be presenting sample components made of aluminum that illustrate the potential of these alloys. In the company’s own 3D printing application laboratory in Ditzingen, customers will also have the opportunity to work with TRUMPF experts to identify the optimal aluminum alloys for their applications and try them out in initial tests.
