UltiMaker presents new UltiMaker S6 3D printer

With the new S6 model, UltiMaker is expanding its range in the field of FDM 3D printing and is aimed specifically at professional users in technology, production and maintenance. According to the manufacturer, the printer is designed to impress above all with increased speed, improved compatibility and robust printing results – while at the same time reducing operating costs.

The UltiMaker S6 is equipped with the Cheetah Motion Planner, a new motion control system that enables print speeds of up to 500 millimeters per second and an acceleration of 50,000 mm/s². Compared to the S5, this enables significantly shorter printing times to be achieved. Despite the high speed, the print quality should be maintained, which is particularly important for function-critical components.

As with the predecessor model, the S6 also uses dual extrusion technology. This allows simultaneous printing with two materials, for example to combine carrier materials and functional materials. A central material station supplies both extruders, which simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime.

An advantage for existing UltiMaker users: the S6 is fully backwards compatible with the S5 series. Existing accessories such as print cores, air managers and material stations can still be used. A glass printing plate is available for applications with special hygiene requirements, such as in medical technology. Alternatively, a flexible build plate can be used for general applications.

Integration into the UltiMaker ecosystem around Cura and the Digital Factory enables remote control and automation of print jobs. Compatibility with over 300 materials makes the S6 versatile. For companies that do not want to fundamentally change existing workflows, the S6 offers an easy transition while increasing performance.

With a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, certified manufacturing and a focus on sustainability, UltiMaker underlines its claim to be a reliable partner for professional additive manufacturing.
