Vienna-based UpNano GmbH is advancing its internationalization and, together with Husun Technologies, is entering the Chinese market. The Beijing-based distributor is setting up a demo lab where a NanoOne-1000 system with full peripherals will be available for tests, training, and feasibility studies. The target group is research institutes and selected industries that want to evaluate or transfer ultra-precise microfabrication with two-photon polymerization (2PP) into processes.
Technically, UpNano positions the NanoOne series as a 2PP platform that combines high writing speeds with sub-100-nanometer resolution. This is made possible by adaptive resolution that switches during printing between volume build-up and fine-detail processing, as well as a coordinated materials portfolio ranging from biocompatible to heat-resistant to optical resins. The compact system format facilitates integration into laboratory environments, while software features such as scalable voxel sizes and non-linear exposure strategies expand the process windows.
“China is a significant yet demanding market,” explains Bernhard Küenburg, CEO of UpNano. “With Husun Technologies, we have found an experienced and reliable partner to gain a foothold there. Husun will become part of our international partner network, and together we aim to establish our 2PP technology sustainably in the market—an important step that opens up new opportunities for research and industry.”
The Beijing location is intended to address applications in microfluidics, photonics, biomedicine, and electronics. Husun is focusing on universities and sectors such as medical technology, semiconductors, and optical systems.
“UpNano’s technology is an ideal complement to our portfolio of high-performance 3D printing systems,” emphasizes Yongfeng Qiao, CEO of Husun Technologies. “Together we will build a strong base in science and industry. At a time when precision is gaining importance across all sectors, a system with tolerances below 100 nanometers provides exactly the right answers.”
In parallel, UpNano is expanding its offering technologically: the NanoOne green, introduced in 2024, integrates a 515 nm laser for high detail fidelity in transparent materials, while the NanoPro-VT system targets serial production of microscopic components. With the partnership, UpNano now provides direct access to 2PP workflows in China and lowers the entry barrier for interested parties—from evaluation to qualification of application-oriented components.
