ValCUN Presents New Facility for Metal-Based 3D Printing

The Belgian company ValCUN has opened its new production facility for metal-based additive manufacturing. The event provided professionals, partners, and industry enthusiasts with the opportunity to experience the company’s proprietary technology firsthand and exchange insights on current developments in metal 3D printing. The inauguration was organized in collaboration with the 3DoP consortium, a European project that supports small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing additive manufacturing.

After the welcome speech by founders Jonas Galle and Jan De Pauw, guided tours through the new facility were offered. Visitors could watch live demonstrations of ValCUN’s metal-based 3D printing technology. The company is pursuing a new approach to make the use of metal AM processes more economical and flexible.

A central element of the event was a series of expert presentations, offering different perspectives on the additive manufacturing of metals. Tali Rosman, an additive manufacturing consultant at ValCUN and former manager at Stratasys and Xerox AM, spoke about the current state of the industry. Additional contributions came from experts in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning sector, as well as innovation institutes such as Sirris and the 3DoP Brainport Eindhoven. The presentations covered both the economic and technological aspects of metal AM and its integration into industrial processes. Joachim Antonissen from Guaranteed explained how additive manufacturing can contribute to resource optimization and cost efficiency.

At the conclusion of the event, a networking session provided an opportunity to establish new connections and exchange ideas on potential collaborations. ValCUN emphasized that the additive manufacturing of metals continues to be a major driver of innovation in production. The opening of the new facility marks another step in the development of efficient and adaptable metal 3D printing solutions.
