Italian 3D printer manufacturer WASP will be showcasing its latest developments at two major trade fairs from 9 to 12 October. The company, which has been developing and producing 3D printers since 2012, will be presenting its technologies for the construction and medical sectors.
At SAIE, the international construction trade fair in Bologna, WASP will be presenting in two areas. In the live printing area, visitors can watch the Crane WASP printing a wall of the self-sufficient house ‘Itaca’. This project illustrates the possibilities of large-format 3D printing in the construction industry. At stand G54 in hall 29, WASP will also be demonstrating the WASP 3MT HDP industrial 3D printer. This enables the production of customised parametric formwork for the construction industry.
At the same time, WASP will be taking part in BioJapan in Yokohama, a leading event for the biotechnology industry in the medical sector. Here, the company will be presenting specific applications of its 3D printing technologies. These have been developed in collaboration with orthopaedic laboratories and manufacturers and offer practical solutions for patients. WASP plans to export its ‘Digital Orthopedic Laboratory’ concept to Japan and make it accessible to local companies.
The presence at these trade fairs emphasises WASP’s broad range of applications in 3D printing. In the construction sector, the technologies enable the realisation of innovative housing concepts such as the self-sufficient house ‘Itaca’. In the medical sector, WASP focuses on the production of customised orthopaedic aids.
