Wayland Additive releases Wayland Connect software for monitoring Calibur3 3D printers

Wayland Additive has released the full version of its Wayland Connect software, designed to optimize control and monitoring of Calibur3 metal eBeam additive manufacturing systems. The software allows users to comprehensively monitor the printing process in real time and is accessible via two main platforms: an online dashboard interface and a mobile app. Both platforms provide users with comprehensive insight into their ongoing printing operations.

Via the online dashboard, customers can gain detailed insights into the build progress of their Calibur3 machines. The software collects data during the entire printing process, which can be archived and used for later analysis. This allows users to create reports on the performance and success of printing processes and optimize the configurations of their machines. The collected data also supports machine learning to make future print jobs more efficient and enable proactive maintenance measures.

The Wayland Connect mobile app, which is available for both Apple and Android devices, offers users a convenient way to monitor their printers remotely. With the app, users can view the status of their machines at any time and configure push notifications for important operating parameters. The app also provides access to live images of the print room, which is particularly helpful for tracking ongoing processes and identifying any problems at an early stage.

According to Sohail Saddique, Senior Software Engineer at Wayland Additive: “We have developed Wayland Connect to provide our Calibur3 customers with an advanced tool to monitor each and every one of their builds with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface whether they are accessing it via the dashboard or the app. Access to information on live builds provides assurance and peace-of-mind, especially if users are remote from the machine, for example overnight. The extensive in-process monitoring capabilities installed on the Calibur3 systems can be accessed easily and quickly with Wayland Connect to provide an up-to-the minute status report of the machine and the build in progress.”

The Wayland Connect software has already received positive feedback in beta tests with existing customers and is now being fully released to further increase efficiency and control over 3D printing processes.
