The US company Womp has introduced a web-based platform that uses generative AI to create 3D models and prepare them directly for printing. The aim is to simplify the entire workflow from idea to physical object. Users can generate models from text inputs or images and then order them directly. No separate software or CAD knowledge is required.
Unlike common AI image generators, Womp does not produce visual representations, but rather printable 3D objects with real application potential. The platform provides over 200 tested base models that can be customized in terms of scale and structure. According to the manufacturer, these are suitable for prototype construction, product design, or small series production, among other things. Full-color and multi-material models are supported, allowing even complex shapes with different surfaces to be simulated.
The online interface combines classic 3D modeling functions with AI-supported object creation. A drag-and-drop system allows components to be placed, scaled, and combined in real time. In “Print Mode,” users can hollow out models, check wall thicknesses, and validate printability. Once the design is complete, printing can be ordered directly through Womp’s integrated service.
The company uses stereolithographic (SLA) processes and high-quality synthetic resins for manufacturing. There are currently two materials to choose from: “White Prototyping Plastic” (WPP), a cost-effective white resin with a smooth surface, and “Clear Resin” (CR), which delivers transparent results for design models or technical applications.
