The U.S.-based 3D printing specialist Xact Metal has recorded significant order growth in the second and third quarters of 2025. According to the company, orders increased by more than 30 percent year-over-year in both quarters. Xact Metal attributes this development to continued strong demand in the field of metal 3D printing, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises looking to expand or decentralize their production capacities.

Xact Metal develops systems based on the powder bed fusion process, in which fine metal powder is melted layer by layer with a laser. This technology enables the production of parts with complex geometries and high dimensional accuracy, suitable for use in industries such as mechanical engineering, medical technology, and defense. The company’s goal is to make metal additive manufacturing economically accessible and shift it from centralized lab structures toward more flexible production models.

“2025 continues to be a strong year for us,” said Juan Mario Gomez, CEO of Xact Metal. “In both 2Q and 3Q of this year, we achieved over 30% growth rates in both quarters, continuing the strong order revenue that we saw in late 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. Over the last two years we have worked hard to meet the needs of key industry segments, like defense and plastic injection molding. This focus on key industry applications, together with our strategy to bring metal powder-bed fusion to small and medium size organizations and to decentralize central labs at large organizations continues to be welcomed by our customers.”

“To further support our growth, we have expanded our commercial sales team in the second and third quarter of this year,” said Gomez. “We are pleased to welcome Mark Barfoot, Jim Snodgrass and Wyatt Fink to our sales and applications team. Together they bring strong technical and commercial experience in metal additive manufacturing. With this larger team we plan to expand our focus into other industry segments, like medical and aerospace.”

To further support its growth, Xact Metal has expanded its sales team over the past two quarters. By hiring experienced professionals such as Mark Barfoot, Jim Snodgrass, and Wyatt Fink, the company aims to strengthen its focus on the aerospace and medical sectors. According to Gomez, Xact Metal sees strong potential in integrating additive manufacturing more deeply into regulated and quality-critical production processes.
