ZVerse Partners with 3D Systems and Raises $ 3.5 Million Series A Funding

ZVerse, a developer of 3D content creation applications for full colour 3D printing, has entered into a commercial agreement with 3D Systems. The two companies will co-develop ZVerse’s patent pending post processing technology for producing high gloss and moisture resistant full colour 3D printed products.

zverse_street_fighter_vZVerse is using their proprietary LAYR software to convert 2D images into 3D printable objects. The application has been used by many other companies and small businesses alike, with Source3 being the latest, creating a 3D printed version of the cover for Street Fighter V by Capcom.

As additional part of the agreement, the companies will work on the development and marketing of 3D Systems 3DMe Photo Booth technology using ZVerse’s licensed content and distribution channels.

Rajeev Kulkarni, Chief Product Officer, 3D Systems said: “We are pleased to partner with ZVerse, combining our technology and engineering expertise with their deep experience in application development and content creation to advance full color 3D printing. We are excited to leverage their process know-how and expansive distribution network to expand content and coverage for our Photobooth technology.”

In the recent press release, ZVerse also announced that it has closed on a $ 3.5 million Series A funding round from Mosley Ventures, Capital A Partners and strategic investors. The funding will be used to advance their position in full colour 3D printing applications for licensed content along with the commercialisation of their LAYR platform.

“The ZVerse software platform is core to unlocking 2D image content for 3D printing. We believe ZVerse is uniquely positioned to help solve 3D printing’s content problem as the 3D printing market trends towards exponential growth,” says Wei-Chun Tai of Mosley Ventures, who joined the ZVerse board.
