3D printing specialist Exentis at ceramitec in Munich for the first time

Exentis Group AG, provider of the only 3D technology platform worldwide that enables industrial large-scale manufacturing, participated for the first time in the ceramitec trade fair in Munich mid-April.

Ceramitec is the leading international trade fair for the ceramics industry, taking place every two years. This year, on an exhibition area of 33,000 m2, over 13,000 visitors from 84 countries were recorded, which represents an increase of 30 % compared to 2022. This underlines the steadily growing interest in new and innovative manufacturing solutions from a wide range of industrial sectors, particularly in the additive manufacturing space.

The capability of the Exentis 3D technology platform to mass-produce ceramic parts
with ultra-fine structures created great interest among visitors.

Dr Gereon Heinemann, Chief Executive Officer of Exentis Group AG: “In the entire spectrum of additive manufacturing processes, we offer the only technology that is comparable to ceramic injection molding in terms of output quantity. However, it offers the additional advantage of much greater flexibility at significantly lower costs as there is no need for expensive tool and mold production or post-processing. Our technology platform is also flexible in terms of materials used and capable of processing metals, polymers, active pharmaceutical ingredients in addition to ceramics. A combination of materials is also possible.”

Within this year’s trade fair focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and automation, Exentis has been offering convincing solutions. The cold printing process applied by Exentis is characterized by low energy consumption, highest material efficiency (no residual material or waste) and the use of solely sustainable and recyclable raw materials. The printing process itself is highly automated.

Dr Gereon Heinemann: “During the four days at the trade fair, we were able to talk to numerous decision-makers and experts from renowned companies. The feedback on the advantages of our technology was extremely positive. In particular, the precision and surface quality of parts produced with Exentis’ technology were emphasized, as well as the capability of our technology for large-scale production. I am expecting a large number of new customer orders from these discussions.”
