Bhulk: 3D Printed Compostable Bike Frame Wins Eurobike Award

EuroCompositi is the winner of the Eurobike 2015 award for its Aenimal project. The 3D printed bike frame called Bhulk, is probably the “greenest” one ever produced.

For their proof-of-concept bike, the design created with generative algorithms and 3D modeling software, was 3D printed out of plant-based material, that is both recyclable and compostable. According to EuroCompositi, less energy than with traditional methods producing metal bike frames was used to 3D print Bhulk. The FDM printer was even powered with solar energy.
