COBRA Golf unveils LIMIT3D 3D-printed steel irons in partnership with nTop

Golf equipment supplier COBRA presents a technological innovation: the LIMIT3D irons are the first commercially available, fully 3D-printed steel irons. They were developed in collaboration with the startup nTop, an expert in computer-aided design. The aim was to combine the precision and compact profile of a tour iron with the length of an oversized game improvement model.

To achieve this goal, COBRA and nTop utilized the possibilities of additive manufacturing. With the help of the nTop software platform, it was possible to integrate an internal lattice structure that specifically redistributes 33 percent of the iron weight without compromising strength.

“Using 3D printing, we were able to precisely place up to 100 grams of tungsten in the heel and toe mass. This lowers the center of gravity and increases the moment of inertia enormously, with a compact club head shape,” explains Mike Yagley, VP Innovation at COBRA.

A limited edition of 500 sets of the LIMIT3D will be available from June 7 at a price of 3,000 US dollars per 4-PW setup.
