The Italian microcontroller producer Arduino will launch an Open-Source Apartment in collaboration with Author Bruce Sterling.
Massimo Banzi, co-founder of Arduino, announced the project at the MakerCon. The apartment will be located in Arduino’s headquarter in Turin and is considered to be a test project for the open-source community. According to Banzi, the space will be equipped with furniture from OpenDesk and hardware creations by Arduino, making the communication between fitments possible.
The official opening will take place by the end of this year and people can then rent the Open-Source Apartment on Airbnb.
