3D Hubs has just released the 3D Printing Trends Report for January 2015 and as a special addition they have asked the 2,279 reviewers of the 3D Printer Guide, what printer they are planning to buy next.
The two most popular 3D printers by far for users to buy next are the Ultimaker 2 and the SLA Printer Form 1+. “The Ultimaker 2 won by a single vote, but we have to add that it is already one of the most common printers on our platform, while the majority of prospective Form 1+ buyers are new to the manufacturer.”
3D Hubs also analysed the manufacturer loyalty of 3D printer owners and have calculated how likely current owners are to buy their next 3D printer from the same manufacturer. Results showed that Lulzbot has the most loyal users, followed by Zortrax, Ultimaker ans WASP:
Among the highest rated desktop 3D printers in January we see the Form 1+ with 4.83 out of 5 stars on top of the ranking. Surprisingly the Chinese Replicator-based 3D printer CTC-3D ranked second:
