Anycubic presents its own 3D model platform with Makeronline

The Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Anycubic now has its own platform for 3D models, Makeronline. The company is thus following the example of other companies in the industry.

The best-known 3D model platform for 3D printing is UltiMakers Thingiverse. The platform has been online for over 10 years and was originally operated by desktop 3D printer pioneer MakerBot. Following the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBot, the platform now operates under the name “UltiMaker Thingiverse”. The website is still the largest platform of its kind today.

In recent years, however, there has been a trend for other manufacturers to set up their own platforms. The Czech manufacturer Prusa, for example, has built up an extensive platform with Printables, which offers even more features than Thingiverse. The Chinese manufacturer Creality also has its own platform with its Creality Cloud and the newcomers Bambu Lab and AnkerMake also have their own portals with MakerWorld and MakeItReal respectively.

It is therefore logical that Anycubic is also building its own platform. With their own portal, manufacturers can improve access to models in their own ecosystem. Makeronline offers a range of free 3D printing templates as well as regular competitions for designers. Anycubic also offers a forum for the community.
