Bricasso: The First Ever LEGO Printer

LEGO enthusiast and creator of JK Brickworks, Jason Allemann, has unveiled a LEGO printer called Bricasso.

Jason only recently completed his ambitious, several months long project and posted videos of the final version on his website.

The device does not only “print” with LEGO but is also completely made out of LEGO parts. An EV3 colour sensor scans the source image and saves the data on the Mindstorms unit. The print head, a 1×1 round plate, picks up 1×1 plates from the gravity feed system and places them on the platform to create a mosaic.
