3D Hubs has analysed data of crowd funded 3D printers for the first time in their most recent trend report for October 2014.
The impressive numbers reveal that 3D printing campaigns have received more than $20 million in funding for 34,000 printers. 3D Hubs is forecasting a growth a 17% in revenue and 28% in unit sales for 2014. The by far most successful and popular crowd funding platform is Kickstarter, followed by Indiegogo. The top 5 most funded projects were introduced on Kickstarter. The platform collected almost 90% of all funding.
Printers from 3D Systems lead the quality ranking and have even been able to improve their overall rating compared to the last report.
