3D Printed Covers for LUMIX Camera by Panasonic

Panasonic collaborated with Materialise and the design studio WertelOberfell to create individual covers for their LUMIX GM1 camera.

The electronics manufacturer Panasonic wants to personalise its products by introducing a line of covers for their LUMIX camera. The first range of 3D printed custom covers was presented at the Photokina Fair in Colon, Germany, and includes the following three designs fabricated by stereolithography: Art Nouveau, Modernism and Digital Age.

“The idea of using 3D Printing in customization of Lumix digital still cameras is something we’ve been watching closely,” sagt Sebastian Drawert, Marketing Manager bei Panasonic. “It takes know-how and expertise to make it work, but the series we presented at Photokina really evoked the craving we had in mind.”
