3D Systems Previews Chocolate 3D Printer CocoJet at CES

3D Systems will preview CocoJet, a chocolate 3D printer developed in collaboration with The Hershey Company, at the International CES taking place this week in Las Vegas.

CocoJet can print custom designs in dark, milk or white chocolate and is ideal for the baker or chocolatier. Only recently the 3D technology company has announced its collaboration with the American chocolate manufacturer for Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction. Since mid-December, visitors of the amusement park have the opportunity to witness live 3D printing and see finished products in the exhibit. The cooperation also intends to provide valuable market research on the consumer applications for chocolate 3D printing. 3D Systems will share its commercial plans for CocoJet at a later date.

“Our partnership with Hershey, the largest producer of quality chocolate in North America and a global leader in chocolate and confections, allows us to create unique, exciting and personalized edible experiences,” said Chuck Hull, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, 3DS.  “Our preview of CocoJet at CES showcases the power and possibilities of 3D printing, and extends our experience and innovation in culinary 3D printing.”

3D Systems is also showcasing its professional grade food 3D printers ChefJet and ChefJet Pro at the International CES. The devices produce edible candies and decor with a variety of flavour options and are expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2015.
