AMAZEMET uses Siemens Xcelerator to democratize additive manufacturing with metals

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that AMAZEMET is using solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to build a closed-loop production chain for metal additive manufacturing materials and associated post-processing equipment.

AMAZEMET develops and manufactures devices for ultrasonic atomization on a laboratory scale. These can be used to produce metal powders with customized chemical compositions in-house. These powders are suitable for various applications, including additive manufacturing. The AMAZEMET team has set itself the goal of expanding the scientific possibilities in material development and metal-based additive manufacturing. AMAZEMET’s engineering team relies on the Siemens Xcelerator to bring products to market.

“Within four years, we have grown from a small startup to an international company with 60 employees. We work with leading scientific and technical groups in the fields of development, prototyping and, in particular, metal-based additive manufacturing,” says Łukasz Żrodowski, CEO of AMAZEMET. “With the expansion of our team, centralization of data became crucial to avoid costly mistakes such as sending wrong designs for production. That’s why we decided to digitize with Siemens Xcelerator to manage our growing volumes of data from the development and production of our technologies.”

At the heart of the AMAZEMET product range is rePowder, an ultrasonic atomizer that can produce metal powder from any alloy and in any form of raw material. With rePowder, this is also possible in small quantities, for example for research purposes. In addition to the basic material processing technology, AMAZEMET has also developed solutions for post-processing, including the inFurner – a cost-effective high-vacuum laboratory furnace for heat treatment processes. To achieve this, the AMAZEMET team has implemented Siemens NX™ software for product development and Teamcenter® X software for cloud-based product lifecycle management and collaboration.

“The Siemens Xcelerator portfolio increases our efficiency and provides a common platform for managing documentation, product development and manufacturing processes. Its scalability supports our continued growth by streamlining documentation management, accelerating design and removing barriers to expansion. Siemens NX significantly shortens our product development time and provides stability and reliability even with the complex assemblies of our rePowder device, preventing data loss and system crashes. Siemens Teamcenter X provides a cloud-based, harmonized data structure that ensures all files and service documentation are accessible anytime, anywhere.”

“Additive manufacturing is experiencing tremendous growth, but it is also ripe for disruption. Additive manufacturing offers scale flexibility and geometry freedom, enabling engineers and designers to produce optimized and lightweight parts that were previously unthinkable – but it faces the challenge of accessibility before it can truly deliver on its promise,” said Mariusz Zabielski, Vice President, Country Manager Poland and Czech Republic, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “It’s great to see a Polish company bringing new technologies to market and strengthening Poland’s position as a melting pot of true innovation in additive manufacturing. AMAZEMET is another perfect example of how innovators and pioneers in a variety of industries are using the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to digitally transform and scale their businesses and fulfill the promise of widespread adoption of metal additive manufacturing.”
