Engineering Leader 2017 Leads VSHAPER R&D Team

“Engineering Leaders <40” contest was created to reward and highlight the achievements of young specialists in the production industry who through their work have made a difference in their field. The contest is organized by the publisher of “Control Engineering Polska” and “Inżynieria & Utrzymanie Ruchu” magazines. During a solemn gala on February 22nd, 2018, at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel, the title of “Leader of Engineering 2017” was awarded to Marek Kantowski, R&D Lead Engineer at VERASHAPE.

The “Engineering Leaders <40″ contest promotes people under 40, whose work contributed to the success of both their workplace and the entire industry. The best engineers are assessed based on the following criteria: impact on financial results; innovation of companies in which they were or still are employed, the scope of responsibility in relation to age, engineering competence, opinions of colleagues, superiors, co-workers as well as hobbies related or unrelated to engineering, etc.

Awarded with the title of ” Engineering Leader 2017″ Marek Kantowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering at Rzeszow University of Technology. One of the main constructors of VSHAPER 3D Printers, responsible for running R&D department. The creator of patent PL.227645 for “A heating printing platform with individually controlled heating sections”, used as a working platform in 3D Printers working in fused filament fabrication technology.

Marek Kantowski is also the co-creator of an innovative 5-axis 3D Printer created with the support of the National Center for Research and Development, presented for the first time at Formnext 2017 in Frankfurt. Co-creator of a 3D Printer for medical applications – VSHAPER MED, which was presented for the first time at Hannover Messe 2017. He constantly analyzes the development trends of the industry and actively influences them.

VSHAPER PRO 3D Printer created by the team of Marek Kantowski was awarded “MTP 2017 Gold Medal”, “Build 3D Printing Award” and nominated for “3D Printing Industry Award 2018”, “Product of the Year 2017” by “Inżynieria & Utrzymanie Ruchu” magazine, as well as for the 3D Printing Center’s” Best Polish 3D Printer 2017″.

The awardee is deeply passionate about electric vehicles – scooters, rovers and everything connected with them. BLDC motors, electronic systems, power sources, LI-ION batteries are the topics he can talk about for hours. After hours he creates prototypes of electric vehicles, sharing his passion of creative learning about the world with his sons. He is a huge fan of flying drones UAV and FPV, which he designed and constructed (also customized for sale) already in 2010.

In addition to promoting the success of young production engineers, the contest also aims at presenting ways in which employers support the development of a new generation of industry professionals. The main partner of this year’s contest was ASTOR, a company specializing in the implementation of automation and industrial robotics systems.
